Exciting Surface Design News and Pretty Art Print

Dear friend,
The weather across the UAE is rather lovely in February. It's warm enough to swim in the outdoor pool but a little freezing to dive into the ocean. Our family has been enjoying the beaches and parks on the weekends.
I finished reading the first book in 2025. It's called "The One Thing" by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan, and it changed my life and how I approach my business. It has helped me stay focused and on track with my goals.
Learning from the book made me pretty productive at the beginning of the year. I finished creating two pattern collections and recoloured one mini-collection I made last year. I have been creating art in my sketchbooks more often and feel much freedom in pure creative play, which is fantastic because even though it is not my primary motivation for drawing or painting in my sketchbook, I could always use what I made for a commercial project in the future when inspiration hits.
Last year, I licensed two patterns to Shein and sold five custom patterns to a local fabric brand. While I was encouraged by the progress, I look forward to much more growth this year.
While my current focus is on landing more licensing deals, I also offer fine art prints in my online shop and my designs on fabric and wallpaper in my Spoonflower shop.
I need to apologize for the inconsistency of my emails. However, I also want to be honest and tell you where I am. I'm trying to decide what to write about in my emails and blog posts to most benefit my audience— you, my friend.
